Calling all you crafters...I need ideas!

Ok all you crafty people, I need your help. I have been asked to come up with something for our R.S. "Christmas In July". They asked me to come up with some kind of ornament or photography craft that we could make. Preferably on the cheap side. I think they have mistaken me for Susie Homemaker, because I am going blank on this one. Any ideas or links to some ideas would be much appreciated!!!

Check out this website: http://photojojo.com/content/diy/photo-christmas-tree-ornaments/

Also, I've seen advent calendars with photos of family members behind each day.Look at www. ucreate.com and the christmas tab on right side for an idea of what this looks like.

Good luck.

Hope all else is well with you and fam.

MISS YOU!!

Hey Jules, I have several fun blogs on my favorite's list that have great crafty ideas-check 'em out! You might want to check out esty and steal some crafty ideas from all the etsy crafters out there, as well. That blog I linked you to for the Father's day gift is a great one too. Good luck! If I see anything else in my ramblings, I'll pass it on!

Beaded Crystal Wreath

These beaded wreath ornaments are so easy to do that you may want to make a bunch of them to decorate the Christmas tree.

In a similar fashion, you could also make companion Beaded Wreaths or Candy Canes or Crystal Swirl Ornaments.

Material:

Aluminum or Brass wire
Sunburst or Tri Beads of choice [any size will work]
Needle nose pliers
Ribbon bow

How to:

The amount of beads will depend on the desired size. For this wreath, I used 24 Sunburst beads.

Cut a piece of wire about one inch larger than the desired finished size for your wreath.

Feed your beads onto the wire. Using pliers, twist the wire to secure the circle of beads.

The use of sunburst or tri-beads will help in forming a perfect circle for the wreath as these beads lock into each other.

Cut away any excess wire and attach a small ribbon bow with either wire or hot glue.

These can be nice and inexpensive....I will see if I can find more inexpensive ornament ideas for ya!:)

The wonderfully familiar sounds of the holidays often get shut out while we're keeping warm indoors. Hang this wreath where it will be heard (on a door, for instance), and bring the ring of sleigh bells to all the rooms in the house. Form 16-gauge wire into a circle. Make a closed loop at one end with needle-nose pliers. Thread jingle bells onto the open end in any size and color combination. When the wire is full, join its ends by twisting the unlooped end into a hook, and fasten it onto the closed loop. Tie a piece of ribbon into a bow; secure it to the bottom of the wreath with 24-gauge wire.

I have a picture of what it looks like if you would like it...let me know...my email is faerietorch@yahoo.com

Juliette-

We made ornaments a few years ago that had our black and white photo inside it. We used a clear round glass ornament. I copied each person's picture on to the clear plastic paper (that goes through a printer). I trimmed it in circle shape and rolled it up and popped it inside the ornament. We added a ribbon and berries on top-and it was a gift for the grandparents. Our home-teachers gave us one that had a painting of Christ printed on it. So there's another idea!:)
