Oh so blessed

My baby boys were blessed by their dad on Sunday, May 2nd. It was a beautiful spring day here, and made even more beautiful by the attendance of our family and friends. My mom and step dad Wally rode the train here on Saturday and were able to be here for the occasion as well. Chris' dad and friend Julie came as well as siblings Amy, Matt and Robb. It was a fun, whirlwind weekend! I hardly had time to catch my breath it seemed and then everyone had to go home. Hopefully we will get a van that fits everyone before too long and can make some more family trips to be with everyone again soon.

Chris' blessings were beautiful. I sat on the front row and held Spencer while he blessed Gabriel, and then we swapped. They did fuss through the blessing, but not too badly. Thankfully, the microphone worked this time. When we blessed Alex and Benson the microphone wasn't working and not very many people were able to hear the blessings.

Mom got up and bore a beautiful testimony about raising kids in these latter days. I so enjoyed having her here to chat with, life keeps us so busy that I rarely have that opportunity. The older I get, the more thankful I am for the mother that I have. She is so smart, and spiritual. She is fun to be around, and always had fun things for us to do as kids even though we didn't have much money. She definitely gave me a love for the outdoors, for taking time out to look around and enjoy what Heavenly Father gave us.

This Mother's Day I couldn't be more blessed. I have eight beautiful, healthy children. It is the culmination of a really tough couple of years. I kept chugging along with faith that things would work out and they have. We have a beautiful home, a great job, a great ward, great friends and more kids then we know what to do with. Couldn't ask for anything more! Except for maybe one night of sleep now and then...
